Maharashtra Assembly Election Update

In 1960 the state of Maharashtra was formed and first assembly election held in 1962. Maharashtra is one of the states that have a bicameral legislature, consisting both legislative assembly and the legislative council. The legislative assembly is for 5 years if it is not dissolved sooner the periodic elections are held to elect Vidhan Sabha member.

INC always dominated the Maharashtra politics and so many clashes seen in the INC party for the CM position. After the emergence of Shivsena as a regional party in the state political things get changed and over the time shivsena hold the political thread tightly and after the alliance with the BJP, they gave some stable chief ministers to Maharashtra. In 2014 assembly election both BJP and shivsena did well in the election and won 122 seats by BJP and 63 seats by Shivesena, the Maharashtra assembly election 2014 was good enough for BJP, people start believing in them and BJP left a remarkable impression in the state and this will help them and play an important role for upcoming assembly election in 2019. The current legislative assembly, which is the 13th Assembly of Maharashtra Vidhan sabha, was elected in 2014 and the present Maharashtra Vidhan sabha speaker is Haribhau Bagade, BJP since 2014
