Elections and developments around them are viewed with enormous interest from the people of India. From orator-like speeches of prominent politicians to funny memes made on social media platforms, elections intrigue Indians to the hilt. The West Bengal Election is already hitting the headlines these days. But soon, elections will happen in states like Tamil Nadu and Assam too. Let’s check out the details of all these upcoming elections in India.

West Bengal Election – Will It End the Reign of TMC?

The West Bengal Election will be a keenly watched affair as the BJP looks to further strengthen its presence by registering victory in the state for the first time. The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government has been in power for two consecutive terms of 5 years each since beating the CPI(M) regime in 2011. But she faces an uphill task to maintain the lead this time around as many of her party colleagues have joined the rival BJP camp. Prominent ones include the veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, who is already using his star power to woo voters.  The BJP is mentioning the contributions and ideologies of the late freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose and drawing voters towards it, causing more chaos for TMC. In a sudden turn of events, Mamata Banerjee is now hospitalized after having sustained injuries on her body. While the TMC alleges foul play from BJP by injuring her intentionally, the latter says it’s a well-planned drama by the Chief Minister, giving many the masala they want before the election.
