How Do I Register and Vote?

You can enroll as a general voter if you are an Indian citizen, 18 year of age, resident of polling area and not disqualified.

Who is not qualified to be enrolled in the electoral roll?

Those people are not eligible for voting such as follows:

  1. Not an Indian citizen
  2. Unsound mind, not fit for voting, mentally not well
  3. A person charged for using corrupt practice relating to elections

Steps how to register vote in the electoral roll

Offline Method to fill the form

  1. Download Form 6 or collect this from ERO or from booth level office
  2. Fill two copies
  3. Submit to ERO by your self or send by post

Online Method to fill the form

  1. Fill form 16 online on www.nvsp.in
  2. uploaded all the necessary document as asked during the process

Documents are Required with Form 6

  1. Passport colour size photos
  2. Residence proof and age proof documents such as your Aadhaar card, and 10th mark sheet, bank passbook, electricity bill, water bill, driving license, PAN card, passport and other such types of documents.

How Can You Get Electors Photo Identity Card – EPIC

  1. Booth level officer visit address personally
  2. If your form accepted, they call you to the office to take your EPIC or delivers to your address.

How to Make Modifications and Corrections in the Electoral Roll

For any correction and modification in the electoral roll,

  1. fill form 8 online or download the form 8
  2. submit to the ERO/ AERO

What is Form 7?

Application for objecting inclusion of and deleting a name from the electoral roll. you can not fill this form if your name is not registered as a voter.

Form 7 is using in the following conditions:

  1. Incase if you shifted residence
  2. A known person is dead

How to Fill Form 7

  1. Give details of a person whose name you want to delete
  2. Mention your details
  3. Provide your address
  4. Provide reasons for deletion / objection
  5. Declaration the facts mentioned above are correct or not

Casting your Valuable Vote

What points you should remember while casting your vote

  1. Check your name in the voter list which is available on the chief electoral officer website.
  2. Coordinate with ERO officer to check your name in the list.
  3. Stand in the queue with your ID proof and slip ready.
  4. Should avoid carrying smart gadgets inside the polling booth.
  5. Polling officials will check your name in the voter list
  6. Polling officials will ink your finger and ask to sign the register
  7. Another polling officer will check your inked finger ask you to provide chit
  8. Now your turn to press button to vote on the EVM

  1. Your name should be in the voter list if your name is not in the list, then check your name on the website of the chief electoral officer of your state.
  2. Any information you want related to enrollment and voting, then call the helpline number 1950
  3. A person can not be enrolled in more than one electoral roll if it is so, then gets your name deleted from any electoral roll.
  4. Distribution of money and liquor among the electors is a crime; both giver and taker are equally responsible for fine and imprisonment.
