e Aadhar Card is an electronic copy of Aadhar card, and it is password protected so difficult to temper or crack it, the competent Authority of UIDAI digitally sign its.

What is the difference between the Aadhar card and e Aadhar card?

  1. There is no difference between the Aadhar card and e Aadhar card, one you get by post that is called an Aadhar card and one you download from the website of UIDAI is known as e Aadhar.
  2. After the enrollment, the whole process takes up 3 months to be delivered,  in between you can download e Aadhar and can use where your Aadhar card is required.
  3. Both Aadhar and e Aadhar are valid
  4. Aadhar is the hard copy and difficult to carry and easily get misplaced but e Aadhar is easy to carry and can be downloaded again.

How can I get e Aadhar card?

It is the electronic form of your Aadhar card and can be used for various government verifications. e Aadhar contains all the necessary information just like the Aadhar card containing like biometric data, your address, photograph, unique identification number as issued by UIDAI, your name, birth, sex. Steps to Download Your e-Aadhaar Card

Step1: Visit the UIDAI website: Log on to the official website https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/#/

Step 2: Under the MY Aadhar tab, there is the option “download Aadhar”, Click this option

Step 3: A new tab opens on your browser where you can see the title “download electronic copy of your Aadhar”

Step 4: you are asked to download your card by providing Aadhar number or Enrolment or Virtual ID.

Step 5: If all is well you may get your Adhar card in the PDF format.

How can I access my Aadhar card online?

Yes, you can easily retrieve your lost Aadhar card, if your mobile number is registered in Aadhar, you can find your UID, by clicking on “Retrieve Lost UID/ EID” tab under section Aadhaar enrolment on uidai.gov.in website.
